About Me
I was born in San Jose, California on November 10th, 1992. I grew up around art and music, my father had a massive album collection that I would spend hours listening to. I began making music on our family’s computer at the age of nine and started playing guitar at the age of eleven. Music has been an integral component of my life from a young age.
I currently hold a B.M. in Composition from San Jose State with an emphasis in classical guitar performance. I studied under the tutelage of Dr. Paul Setziol (De Anza), and Dr. Pablo Furman (SJSU) in music theory and composition. In addition, Professor Steven Lin (SJSU) helped shape me into the guitarist I am today. Through my education from these instructors and many others, I came to realize the importance of student-mentor relationships.
My pedagogy revolves around creating an enjoyable environment for learning music while emphasizing the value of hard work and discipline. I frequently tell my students, “If music isn’t fun or enjoyable we wouldn’t be doing it in the first place.” Currently I teach classical guitar, music theory, composition, and audio production.
As a composer I use both acoustic and electronic media. I enjoy scoring for short films and animation, using my compositional skills to accentuate storytelling through sound. Aside from the act of composing, the process of collaboration with other passionate creatives is always an exciting venture.
Ultimately music is not only my trade, but my biggest passion. Whether it be teaching students to overcome musical challenges or to provide my skills to make something meaningful, I’m always looking forward to the next destination in my musical journey.
